Chicago Trip Part One

After months and months of preparation we packed the kids up and headed from Yuma to Chicago.  Doesn't sound to tough right...well that is what we thought.  We checked in and realized that none of our seats were together after we had reserved them together.  They then informed us that our flight was delayed an hour.  Then it was 2 hours.  We were suppose to fly from Yuma to Los Angles and then to Chicago.  But since our flight from Yuma to LA was delayed for so long they had to redirect us to Phoenix and then on to Chicago.  Once we got to Phoenix we waited for our flight to Chicago.  What we didn't know was that we (all 6 of us) were put on Stand By.  The airlines solicited people to give up their seats since the flight was over booked.  Carolyn got a little flustered (wouldn't you) since we needed 5 people to give up their seats so that we could even get on the plane.  Thanks to some generosity of strangers we all got on the flight and then people trade seats with us so we could all some what sit together.  When we got into Chicago we hopped a bus to pick up the rental.  We had reserved an SUV since a regular car wouldn't fit all of us and a Mini Van was a lot more expensive to rent.  Well that didn't go as planed either.  They had sold the SUV we had reserved!  So they tried to convince us to get 2 cars that was a resounding NO.  We finally agreed on a Mini Van and they gave it to us for the price of the SUV and threw in a GPS system and also gave us a $40.00 discount.  By 2am we were finally headed to Grandma Geri's.  Typing this is making me tiered.  We arrived there safely and extremely tired.  The next day we just took it easy.
Riding the Shuttle bus to the rental car (12am, why are they so wide awake)

After a good nights rest Bria was willing to be in the picture.

Grandma Geri looks fantabulous. I am so happy that you guys got to go visit her and have such a good time. Even with the mishaps at the beginning, it looks like the trip was a success.
